FAQs

Arriving from Sydney Airport

If you are travelling to the conference venue directly from the Airport you have 2 main options:

  • Public Transport – Catch the Airport Link to Central Railway Station. From Central you can:
    • Walk to the ICC (approximately 10 minutes). Take the southern exit (back of the train if travelling from the airport) and walk through the Devonshire Street Tunnel, connect to the “Goods Line Walkway” towards UTS (follow the signs) and walk along Darling Harbour to the ICC. The conference is at the northern end of the complex.
    • Catch the Light Rail to Convention Centre Station. Take the northern exit (front of train if travelling from the airport). Follow the signs towards the country platforms and the Light Rail Station. Catch the Light Rail to Convention Centre Station (not Exhibition Station unless you are looking for a longer walk!).
  • Taxi – Catch a taxi from the airport to the Convention Centre. There is a taxi drop off point in Iron Wharf Place (next to HarbourSide Shopping Centre) that is downstairs from the conference venue.
What are my best options for getting to the ICC?

The International Convention Centre Sydney is located in the heart of Darling Harbour, making it easily accessible. Some of your options include:

  • Walk – from Central or Town Hall Stations (approximately 10 minutes)
  • Sydney Light Rail – catch the light rail from Central to Convention Centre Station. You will need an Opal Card (this can be purchased at the Airport or picked up from Opal card retailer – see opal.com.au for further information)
  • Taxi – There is a taxi drop off point in Iron Wharf Place next to Harbourside Shopping Centre. This is downstairs from the conference venue.
  • Parking – Secure parking is available at the ICC (Car Park 1 recommended)
  • Ferry – Ferry services are also available from Circular Quay

Remember the ICC is a big complex. Make sure you head for the Convention Centre end of the building next door to Harbourside Shopping Centre, not the Exhibition Centre.

For further details on all your options plus some handy maps visit the ICC website (https://www.iccsydney.com.au/visit-icc-sydney/getting-to-icc-sydney).

Where is the dinner venue?

The conference dinner will be held at the Hyatt Regency (161 Sussex Street, Sydney).

You can visit our official venue information page.

If you intend to head to the Hyatt Regency directly after the conference close, you can utilise a short cut by walking along Cockle Bay and accessing the pedestrian pass directly under the flyover. Look for the crossing in between Helm Bar & Bistro and SEA LIFE. There are a set of stairs  directly up to the Hyatt Regency back entrance (there are quite a few stairs, so this is not a suitable option for those with accessibility requirements).

Alternatively, you can access the lobby via the main entrance on Sussex St. Digital signage and ushers will be available to direct guests to the function room.

Luggage storage

Cloak rooms are located in the Main Foyer of the ICC and can be used to securely store luggage.

It is preferred that you store your luggage through the ICC’s official service rather than bringing it up to the conference rooms where we cannot guarantee security.

Dress code (conference and dinner)

Dress code for the conference or dinner is not strictly specified. Smart casual or business wear is recommended during the day. Many conference attendees choose to get dressed up for the conference dinner.
