The Opportunity

Commencing in July 2026, Statewide Mutual is offering five fully funded education scholarships for members to undertake the Diploma of Integrated Risk Management. The Diploma through Interlink Technology Services (ITS) is endorsed by the Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA).

Terms and Conditions

• A maximum of five scholarships will be awarded in the 2026-27 financial year.
• Applications are limited to one individual per council.
• Applicants must be current full-time employees of a Statewide Mutual member council.
• The application criteria must be addressed in order to be considered.
• Applicants must be endorsed by their council, demonstrating support for their professional development.
• The successful applicant’s council will pay the course fee upfront and Statewide will arrange reimbursement to council upon course completion. A copy of the learning transcript and an itemised invoice for course fees must be supplied to Statewide Mutual in order to facilitate reimbursement.
• Should the successful applicant withdraw from the course prior to completion, all costs incurred will remain with their council.
• Applicants will have eighteen months (from the commencement meeting with ITS) in which to complete the course. Funding may be withdrawn if the course is not completed within the designated time frame.
• Fees will be reimbursed on the condition that council remains a member of Statewide Mutual throughout the relevant period (commencement date through to finish date).
• Upfront and ongoing fees associated with RMIA membership and/or RMIA certification are the responsibility of the individual and do not form part of this scholarship.
• Statewide will make an introduction to ITS. All further interactions will be exclusively between the successful applicant and ITS.
• Statewide Mutual will receive progress updates from ITS.

Assessment of Applications and Awarding of Scholarships

The Risk Advisory Group will assess the applications and recommend applicants to the Divisional Manager Risk for endorsement. Successful applicants will be notified individually beforehand, followed by a general announcement to the wider membership; thereafter no further correspondence will be entered into.
