Due to the long-standing relationship with Statewide Mutual, Affiliated FM is once again inviting member council staff to apply for the AFM 2016 Statewide Mutual Risk Management Scholarship.
The winning applicant will have the opportunity to visit the FM Global SimZone; a one-of-a-kind learning environment near Boston in the USA. It’s here they’ll advance their knowledge of leading property loss prevention measures while participating in hands-on activities to further their understanding of property loss prevention techniques.
Last year’s scholarship winner was Deborah McDonald, Risk Management Coordinator at Port Stephens Council. Following her return from the USA, she commented, “SimZone was the most engaging and hands-on training I’ve been involved in. The trainers were amazing, knowledgeable and patient. Winning the scholarship has certainly done more to promote risk management at Council than anything I could have dreamt up!”
The winner of this year’s scholarship will be flown from their nearest capital city to the USA, including all transfers and accommodation at the SimZone. Applicants must be available for travel from 12-14 October 2016, and be eligible for entry into the USA to participate in the training programme.
Deadline for entries is 5pm (AEST) Friday 12 August, 2016.
