Brad Murahari, Risk and Compliance Manager with Tamworth Regional Council (TRC), recently returned from his trip to Boston, USA, after being awarded the 2016 Affiliated FM (AFM) Statewide Mutual Risk Management Scholarship.
AFM, underwriters of our Property Mutual Scheme, and Statewide Mutual offer an opportunity of a lifetime each year to a member to learn more about property loss prevention. The scholarship prize saw Brad visit the hands-on environment of parent company FM Global’s unique SimZone training facility.
His winning entry focused on TRC’s vision of incorporating best practice risk management systems into everything Council does towards becoming the pinnacle of risk mature organisations. This includes redeveloping their integrated management system and managing community events like the country music festival and the Nundle Go For Gold Festival.
“Incredible!”, Brad said of the experience upon his return. “Hands-on learning from the experts in the field alongside peers from the other side of the world has provided me with an invaluable insight into managing property risks proactively at a higher level. It’s a scintillating experience just to be in the SimZone training centre and getting valuable tips from trainers.
